I created this website for Zen Thai Cafe as a passion project, so I could sharpen my design skills while giving back to a small business I loved. I discovered the restaurant through a friend's referral during my time in Arizona, and after becoming a regular, I noticed their online presence wasn't doing justice to the experience they delivered in person.
The Problem
Their existing website was outdated and didn’t incorporate their branding (no signature colors, no delicious food photos, and nothing that captured what made the place special). So, I set out to create a website for them.
The Approach
I selected a font that resembled paintbrush strokes to capture the restaurant’s handcrafted, authentic feel. I sifted through hundreds of reviews to find high-quality images of their restaurant and food. And I hand-picked a few of my favorite reviews to feature directly on their site.
Lastly, the site is fully responsive, so users have the same great experience on desktop or mobile, and any screen size in between.
The Result
This website successfully positioned Zen Thai Cafe with a warmer, more inviting digital presence, one that resonates with the cozy, personal experience they're known for.
It was a super fun project to work on, and I'm really proud of how I made their restaurant pop online.
